Bug ID: 121882
Summary: LibreOffice 6.1.3.2 Installer repeatedly fails to
install the update in Win 10 over 6.1.2.1
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.1.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Installation
Assignee: libreoffice-***@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: ***@dreamsplice.com

Created attachment 147243
--> https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/attachment.cgi?id=147243&action=edit
Qualitative point at which the install appears to repeatedly lock.

The LibreOffice 6.1.3.2 install (as an update) appeared to lock at ~15% (see
attached image) for 9 hours. Cancel at that point failed to close the install
dialog. After a cold re-start of the system, a fresh initiation of the install
appears to lock at the same point.

My previous LibreOffice (6.1.2.1) is now toast. I guess you burn the bridges
before building the new ones.

How can I once again have a functional Office suite?

Bob

Have you tried to uninstall LO 6.1.2.1 or delete the LibreOffice folder
manually
before installing LO 6.1.3.2?

you could try to install from a command line with *administrative*
privileges, for example:

msiexec /i LibreOffice_6.1.4.1_Win_x64.msi /L*V logfile.log

if it fails, please add the logfile.log.

I have set the bug's status to 'NEEDINFO'. Please change it back to
'UNCONFIRMED' if the issue is still present

NEEDINFO is a misnomer.

Sorry. I use this application daily. Fussing with the latest version "update"
consumed over 15 hours. So I downloaded the "stable" version 6.0.7.3, and
installed it without difficulty, and without deleting stuff. (And unlike the
last several of the latest versions' installers, the "stable" version's
installer doesn't complain about an open "Windows Explorer" that must be
closed--i.e. my Desktop!--and installs quickly and painlessly. I plan to be
more "conservative" in my updates. I lost too much blood on the cutting edge.

There is unquestionably an issue with the installers for the very latest
versions, but I will not be able to do further testing of the problem on my
system.

Thanks,
Bob

The SUBMIT button on the comment submission needs to disable itself immediately

maybe this is the root cause, why lo refuses to install:

Windows: MSI installation fails if WU service is disabled hard way
