Bug ID: 121961
Summary: Calc cell color not consistent
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.1.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: trivial
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-***@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: ***@volkspares.co.za

Description:
I use the standard palette to specify cell color. The color yellow is not
consistent as it changes from lighter to darker every time i pick it.

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Highlight a cell,
2.Choose yellow from std background color palette
3.Some cells dark, some cells light.

Actual Results:
Cell color not consistent. Although using the same palette and same color
sample block, the color changes.

Expected Results:
Color should be consistent.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Can you provide a sample spreadsheet where the problem is reproducible?

(a hint: when producing screenshots, please use PNGs. They don't weight much,
and don't distort colors and lines. E.g., here it's even impossible to get the
real RGB color value from the image)

Conparison of the different yellows

But your cells are filled with different colors!

On the attached screenshots, it's clear that cells C6:C10 are filled using
color #FFF200 (and the highlighted color is to the right in the bottom "Recent"
line), while for cells C11:C13, "yellow" is used, and the color in the palette
is highlighted.

Closing NOTABUG. Feel free to put it back to UNCONFIRMED if you feel it's
wrong. If so, please provide detailed steps how to reproduce this using the
same applied color.

Hi Mike
Point is I never pick the yellow color from recent line of colors at the
bottom.
I always pick from the same yellow square at the top lh of the color palette.

(In reply to Ivan Williams from comment #5)

So we need something to reproduce wrong behavior. Specific steps ("1. do this;
2. click that; 3. select that... N. the color is wrong"). Without that, it's
*impossible* to work on something.

Mike, apologies.
I do not believe it is a bug as such.
After trying various methods to reliably duplicate the issue, I realized that
when opening a new Calc spreadsheet, the default fill color is the "darker"
yellow. (not on the Standard fill color palette) I used this colour thinking it
was saved or remembered from a previous session.

To duplicate:
1.)Open a new calc spreadsheet (note the fill color, yellow in my case)
2.)Highlight any cell and use the default fill color without opening the
palette drop down.
3.)Now highlight an adjacent cell and open the standard color palette.
4.)None of the yellows in the standard palette match the "default" yellow.

Workaround:
Never use the default yellow as present when opening a calc document, always
open the color picker and pick the color needed.
