Bug ID: 121679
Summary: Ctrl+Shift+J does not fully maximise the workspace on
Ubuntu 18.10
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 6.1.2.1 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: libreoffice-***@lists.freedesktop.org
Reporter: ***@lostpin.net

Description:
Ctrl+Shift+J does not fully maximize the workspace on Ubuntu 18.10. I get two
bars on top, the OS's standard bar and LibreOffice's bar. It could be a lot
better if somehow I could eliminate those two bars and have just LibreOffice's
menu bar instead. Apps such as GIMP, Inkscape, Krita, Darktable, Blender, etc.
seem to apply full-screen mode better, at least in Ubuntu 18.10.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Ctrl+Shift+J

Actual Results:
I get two bars on top, the OS's standard bar and LibreOffice's bar.

Expected Results:
Just the app's working space, whether that's a Writer document, a Calc table,
etc.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

OpenGL enabled: Yes

A screenshot of LibreOffice in 'full-screen' mode with the OS's bar and the
app's bar still showing.

Have you tried it in Ubuntu 18.10? Could you upload a screenshot? Thanks.

Calc maximizes just fine in Windows 10; it's not working properly in Ubuntu
18.10.

Could you provide a screenshot about a full-screen app which seems to have
better appearance? I don't think so it's a LibreOffice issue.

According to your screenshot you're using Gnome desktop environment. Unity
desktop environment has had the given feature.

Hi, I've added Blender's, GIMP's and Krita's full-screen appearance modes under
18.10...

Correct, but since Ubuntu is bound to use Gnome for some time now (I guess),
it's a kind of a nuisance to lose that screen estate... :)

Hi,

Oh, I see know.

I can confirm this issue in
Version: 6.3.0.0.alpha0+
Build ID: e4c2d0bb57ab8ea8f5c400d103d01376b8140f22
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 4.18; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3;

2018-11-30_21:37:10
Locale: hu-HU (hu_HU.UTF-8); UI-Language: en-US
Calc: threaded

But only for Gnome desktop environment. Full screen feature is working properly
in Unity and Xfce desktop environment.
